Event by W&M Physical Theatre
UPSIDE DOWN invites you into a world where gravity loses its grip and everything familiar flips on its axis. The latest creation from WM2—W&M Physical Theatre’s formidable apprentice company—pulls audiences through a kinetic whirlwind of raw energy, bold expression, and transformative physicality.
Presented at the iconic Vertigo Theatre (at the base of the Calgary Tower)
the production features powerful new works by internationally acclaimed choreographer Wojtek Mochniej, and for the first time, a debut creation by Nicole Charlton Goodbrand for WM2.
The program also includes a fresh, fearless solo work from W&M’s Artists in Residence:
Alèn Martel, Jared Tobias Herring, and Nicole Charlton Goodbrand—supported by W&M Physical Theatre’s Artist in Residence (AIR) program, an initiative that fosters bold, original voices in contemporary performance.
Friday 7PM includes Nicole Charlton Goodbrand in “Her Cooking Smells Like Death”
Saturday 7PM includes Alèn Martel in “Kaprekar’, and Jared Tobias Herring in “Interstices".
Together, these artists shape an evening that is wild and intimate, fierce and reflective—a celebration of disruption, discovery, and what lies beyond the edge of balance.
This is not dance as you know it. This is physical theatre reimagined—visceral, charged, and full of dynamic movement.
Featuring WM2 Performers:
Alèn Martel, Ashley Mae Johnston, Sierra Oszust, Taylor MacLeod, Elexie Tracy, Emily Fonda, Reese Wilson, Sarah Vander Ploeg, and Sylvie Moquin.
