Cost: $65
Led by Bryan Saunders, this course will introduce students who have never specifically studied corde lisse (smooth rope) to a variety of climbs, poses, and moves best suited to corde lisse. At the end of the course, students will be able to put together a short corde lisse sequence, and will have new corde lisse vocabulary that they can also apply to their other aerial disciplines. This class is best suited to students who have already trained in silks, lyra, pole, trapeze, or straps, but who haven't specifically studied corde lisse. For those who HAVE studied silks and corde lisse together under a "verticals" curriculum, this "Learn the Ropes" course will offer them a brand new perspective on rope. Students will learn some unique moves that they can do on corde lisse that they may not be able to do on silks.
Prerequisites: The ability to dead hang from two hands for about 15 seconds and the ability to invert in a straddle and hook a knee.
Make sure to bring a water bottle and wear appropriate attire for movement. Parents and studio directors are welcome to watch the class.
