What other artistic project(s) are you currently working on?

The majority of my time is used running dance programs within the school system as well as at dance studios around Calgary. I am currently in the process of developing a more interactive preschool dance program which I hope to be able to start implementing next year. I am thrilled to have the opportunity of choreographing group dance pieces for various showcases and galas as well as working closely with a vocal studio to bring more diverse art pieces to life, mixing singing with dancing.

What are some of your artistic/professional goals?

My biggest artistic and professional goal is that I never want to stop learning and growing. This industry is constantly changing and evolving as time passes and as not only a choreographer but also an artist and performer myself, my goal is to never stop being able to learn and adapt. I am currently continuing my education with dance training and nutritional courses and my goal for this upcoming year is to add into practice everything I am learning to continue to develop well rounded, strong and safe dancers.

What draws you to dance on film?

Having the ability to use filming instead of live performance allows for a different creative process not only for the choreography but also for performers. Not only does it give you the opportunity to branch out and work with different choreographers and artists but it also allows for more interpretive movement to be added into pieces. I have always been drawn to the more abstract art forms and their intricacy, and combining my passion and love for dance with the endless possibilities of film has unlocked a new potential for my choreography that I could have never imagined.
